Small Apartment Design Calls "Open book" by Sergei Makhno

Small Apartment Design Calls "Open book" by Sergei Makhno

Despite the very limited space, the young owner of this apartment in Kiev wanted to place everything in it: a living room, a kitchen, a dining area, a home theater, a bedroom, a dressing room, a small library and a decent bathroom. To make a full 50 meters of housing, the architectural workshop of Sergei Makhno developed the concept of "a room with a large closet."

The project was called the "Open Book".

It is in the capacity of the "compartment of the cabinet" that the hidden behind the sliding doors rooms located one by one: closer to the entrance - guest wardrobe; further on - bathroom with toilet; behind it - the library's shelves; then - dressing room; and, finally, - a cozy bedroom in the form of a small box with a bed. Only when the door is ajar, the "closet" reveals its real purpose, extending into the space of the living room.

The open guest area combined a kitchen, an elongated kitchen island with a dining area and a sofa set with a home theater zone.

Colored modular sofa Roche Bobois - a landmark in the center of the composition, around it the whole interior palette was lined up. In addition to color, the interior is also distinguished by textures and textures.

The glossy surfaces of white frame furniture created especially for the project by Sergey Makhno's sketches and an array of real black marble create contrast with an array of natural wood on the parquet floor, wall panels and the wooden base of the kitchen island. Smooth surfaces alternate with the relief ones.

Completes the image of designer lighting in combination with hidden lighting sources.
